The film follows Carmen (Aline Kuppenheim)\, a middle-aged woman who lives a sheltered life with her doctor husband. When the local priest asks Carmen to help care for a wounded young man who is part of the resistance\, Carmen begins to realise the dangers of living in a country where people who disagree with the leaders face consequences. Carmen’s involvement in the resistance also explores her spiritual development and the Roman Catholic Church’s attempts to address human rights abuses. \nSome reviews have praised the film’s central performance by Kuppenheim and Martelli’s debut as a director.
